What is Self-Acceptance?
What does self-acceptance mean to you? Do you have it? How do you measure your level of acceptance? From my observations, I discovered that my self-acceptance is relatively low. Instead of seeking my own approval, I often look for external validation. Everyone’s opinion is different, and not everyone can like us. So why do we always seek approval from external sources rather than looking within? When we approve of ourselves, nothing external can shake or tear us down. This is a state of power and true wisdom that we should aspire to.
The Influence of Childhood
Let’s take a step back. In childhood, we might not have learned to regulate ourselves and depended on others for our needs. If this extends to areas like decision-making and validation, we often choose external sources first. But this is not how we make the best decisions, as others may influence us according to their own needs. We need to seek our own guidance and validation to align most closely with God’s will.

Understanding Self-Acceptance
Returning to acceptance, a part of us is not happy and tries to dishonor ourselves. Ask yourself, why would someone not accept you? Put your hands on your heart and shoulders and look within. The answer that came to me was, “Because I am different.” But how? Different language, choices, and perspectives. Isn’t that a good thing? It allows us to learn from each other. Do you see yourself as a soul or just a body with certain conditions? As a soul, everyone is the same; there are no differences. We might be at different levels of evolution, but ultimately, we are all divine sparks from God. This belief in difference is created by the ego.
The Ego’s Role
Why does the ego want you to believe that? It wants to be seen, acknowledged, and considered right. It is the false self, not the true you. If you keep this belief, you will always run after external validation and attract situations to learn self-acceptance. Do you see evidence in your life of people who do not accept you as you are? This indicates a lack of self-acceptance, which only happens when you need to learn to accept yourself.

The Impact of Self-Acceptance
What will happen when you start to accept yourself? Slowly, the external world will also change and accept you as you are. Imagine walking through the world with deep inner acceptance, knowing you are okay as you are.
I am not different from anyone else; I am just a soul evolving and growing. I have made and will make mistakes, and these are invaluable. They are needed for growth and development. I do not need to feel guilty or ashamed of them. They happened to teach me what not to do. I will quickly learn the lesson and move on, instead of dwelling in misery and self-judgment.

Embracing Your True Self
Imagine the excited and accepted version of yourself. Feel it in your body. If this is too big a jump, think of God, who loves you and made you perfect as you are. Like a mother who always loves her child no matter how many mistakes are made, become and be the loving parent to yourself. Forget the past or learned behaviors and move on with confidence and acceptance. Attract more positive situations that reflect your self-acceptance.
Call to Action
Start living as if you matter and accept yourself. Take a moment each day to remind yourself of your worth and to seek validation from within, not from external sources.
